Shatt Al-Arab Hospital, which is to be the most modern hospital of Basra, Iraq, will be a 20.000 m² construction having a 120 bed capacity, built on a 60.000 m² site.

The hospital under the leadership of Iraqi Health Ministry, is planned to have the most advanced technology and serve as a model for other investments in the region.

The hospital will be mainly patient oriented as HAS targets in all its projects. While introducing western style patient care, the project also fulfills local needs such as separate patient wings dedicated to men and women. Because of the high security requirements, special building elements and plan layouts have been considered. The construction of the hospital is being carried out by the Lebanese contracting firm Aswar Lebano.
